Happy Easter!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. Sunday was our first Easter with our precious girl. We really enjoyed celebrating Madelyn's first Easter. However, I have to say, I think it may be time for the nursery during church. She is usually pretty good and easy to quietly entertain. Last Sunday though...not so much. She was a wild child! I love her sitting in church with us and really don't want to start taking her to the nursery, but I am afraid the rest of the congregation may disagree.
Madelyn loved looking through what the Easter Bunny left her! It was sooo fun to watch her play with her new toys. Clara loved her bunny gifts too!

We're Still Blogging...
*I don't know what's going on with this post...I tried several times to correct the format and it just won't...please excuse. :)
I've had several friends & family ask lately if we are still going to blog...yes, we are...just very behind.
However, we have been so busy around here that by the end of the day the last thing I want to do is get on this computer. The bed starts calling my name as soon as M goes to sleep (and if you know what time that is you are laughing at me right now...yes it's early for me to want to go to sleep...and yes I really would!).
Before I give a very summarized update on our last 2 months, I want to share the news that in early October Madelyn will be a BIG SISTER! We are very excited about our upcoming addition.
Our last blog was around Valentines Day...since then we have:

XOXO
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! We sure did.
Madelyn has been receiving gifts for weeks now! First GiGi brought her a little boat & teething ring. Granna & Sir sent 2 precious books! Lolly, Granny, MiMi, and KK came to visit last weekend and they all brought M sweet gifts too. Uncle Lou was also in town and he came bearing gifts from Birdie & the gang. Then on Tuesday, we got another package in the mail from Sue Sue with cute clothes and socks!

The girl's Valentine baskets.
Madelyn LOVED digging through her Valentine's basket!
I let her go through it in her jammies first thing that morning.

Mystery Solved...
Let me start by saying I am one lucky momma. Madelyn has a great schedule and sleeps from 7pm to 7am at night. It is fantastic!
Well, last Sunday morning she woke up crying at 4am, 5am, and 6am. Every morning this week she has woken up around 6ish, talked for a bit, and gone back to sleep. No more waking up crying, but still not her usual sound sleeping. Her naps have been a tad bit off as well.
Knowing there had to be a reason, I have tried a variety of remedies since Sunday morning to diagnose the problem. First I felt her gum line, but no teeth. I got some baby (night-time) orajel anyway just in case. Maybe it's her tummy? Break out the mylicon again to add to her bottles. She's had a bit of a runny nose, so one night I gave her a dose of infant Tylenol before bed. It made no difference, so I scratched that off my list. Chest congestion with that runny nose? Enter baby vicks and a vapor plug in. No luck...hmmm. Still determined something was going on - this was NOT going to be her new schedule - I kept on the case.
Yesterday during her afternoon snack, as I put some mushed up banana in her mouth, my fingertip brushed over her bottom gum...and felt something sharp!! That's right, a tooth had broken through her gums! Madelyn, is getting her FIRST TOOTH! Last night she was back to her normal sleeping...woohoo. I am now confident "The Case of the Night-time Disturbance" is solved.

The "Great Winter Storm"
Last week they (all newscasters) were predicting we would have SNOW on Friday! I believe it was an 80% chance. We did not awake to fluffy white snow...instead, along with cold temperatures, we got ice. However, you would have thought we had 15 feet of snow...the local stations reported on it ALL DAY! ABC had channel 13 news running through GMA, R&K, The View, and All My Children!! (note - I do not sit around and watch tv all day, but I do have ABC playing on the tv for background noise most of the morning). As I listened to the same reports over and over and over again, I couldn't help but wonder "What would areas that actually get major winter weather on a regular basis think of this".
These were some icicles hanging from the roof of our deck. They had mostly melted by the time I thought to take a picture. Our deck and stairs were covered too in the early morning. They thawed fairly quickly though.
Playing in her jammies before her morning nap.
Enjoying playtime safe & sound inside our cozy house...we did not venture out at all Friday with the icy roads!
